Ivan obtained a B.Sc. Pharm. from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, he investigated the enzymatic activity in cancer using covalent probes based on gold nanoparticles and novel macrophages inhibitors, under the supervision of Prof. Galia Blum. Ivan continued in Galia Blum’s lab to M.Sc. in medicinal chemistry. His master project concerned with treatment of resistant epilepsy by selective inhibition of M2 macrophage activity. In late 2020, Ivan joined the LPNS to start his Ph.D. and to work on targeted sonodynamic therapy of pediatric cancers with amphiphilic hybrid nanomaterials.
