Presenting research is a core skill for researchers, yet many academic presentations struggle to communicate complex ideas clearly and engagingly. This interactive workshop introduces practical strategies for designing and delivering effective academic presentations, drawing on evidence-based principles of communication, presentation design, and research storytelling. Participants will learn how to identify the key message of their presentation, structure their talk around the audience’s needs, and organize their content into a clear and compelling narrative. The session will also explore slide design principles that reduce cognitive overload, improve audience engagement, and enhance understanding of research findings. Through examples of effective and ineffective presentation practices, attendees will gain actionable techniques for conference presentations, seminars, thesis defenses, and other academic speaking contexts. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to create presentations that communicate their research with greater clarity, confidence, and impact
