Quantum Materials and Neuromorphic Computation Lab

Our lab studies quantum materials – a field of condensed matter physics concerned with understanding phenomena in which electron-electron interactions play a fundamental role. This broad family of materials exhibits fascinating phenomena such as high temperature superconductivity, metal-insulator transitions, structural transitions, spin/charge ordering and many more. We are especially interested in materials which can be harnessed for emulating neurons and synapses – the building blocks of hardware level neuromorphic computation.
